We’re so proud of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) team, Joann, Krystal, and Pam, who presented an inspiring session at this year’s Collaborative Experience Conference this weekend! Their presentation focused on how virtual groups can bridge the gap of isolation that students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing often experience—especially in rural communities.
In these virtual sessions, students build connections with one another and develop crucial compensatory skills that help them succeed in any environment. Joann, Krystal, and Pam highlighted how they work through a collaborative process to create engaging, skill-building sessions based on the Minnesota Compensatory Skills Checklist. Their approach not only strengthens students' skills but also fosters meaningful relationships that make a lasting impact.
